40 Days of Prayer
September 1st – October 27th 2023
Weekly Prayers:
Pray for Team Health – Start by examining your relationship with God. Celebrate how God has prepared you, and helped you, to achieve the purpose God has called you to serve at CFC. Pray for those in positions of leadership at CFC. For your supervisor, manager, director, and VP over your area of service, and other programs, that God would strengthen them and prepare them to shepherd your team.
Verse: “Here then is my charge: First, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made on behalf of all men: for kings and rulers in positions of responsibility, so that our common life may be lives in peace and quiet, with a proper sense of God and of our responsibility to him for what we do with our lives.” ~1 Timothy 2:1-2 JB Phillips
Pray for Governing Authorities – This week I invite you to join me in praying for our governing leaders, those who are in positions of responsibility that greatly influence the welfare of children and families in Arizona. Pray for the CFC Board of Directors, Governor Hobbs, DCS Director and Leadership, DES Director, and Childcare Services.
Pray for Family Care KIDS – I hope you are experiencing a new depth in your relationship with God and CFC as we enter this third week of 40 Days of prayer. This week we are praying for Family Care KIDS and the work we hope to accomplish in this important ministry of CFC. Pray for the preschool staff, families, new teachers, and the expansion of Family Care KIDS.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” ~Matthew 9:38
Pray for Social Services Programs – This week we will focus on our Social Services programs including Community Foster Care, Therapeutic Foster Care, DCS Adoptions, Specialized Youth Permanency, and Community Engagement. As we serve foster and adoptive families and children in our programs, we focus our hearts on God’s will for our programs and the families we serve.
Verse: “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” ~Ephesians 6:18
This week we will focus on our Counseling and Family Services Programs including STRONG Families for Children, Coaching, Counseling, Mentoring, Pregnancy Counseling, and Infant Adoption.
We labor together to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and to teach and model for families how to be strong in the Lord so that they might be transformed into the likeness of Christ, and so that their children, and their children’s children, will raise families who seek after and follow the Lord.
Verse: “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” ~Matthew 25:35-36;40
Pray for Administrative Services and Social Enterprises – Administrative Services include Staff Care Team, Financial Support Team, Business Intelligence, Quality, Facilities Team, and Marketing. Each of these teams has an integral part in supporting, maintaining, and improving the programs and indirectly serving all our clients and children.
Social Enterprises include Family Care Learning and CFC Thrift Stores. The Mission of Family Care Learning (FCL) is to equip families and caregivers to flourish in their roles by providing life-changing education.
Verse: “For God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-discipline.” ~2 Timothy 1:7
Pray for Financial Resourcing – Week seven of our eight-week journey focuses on praying for Financial Resourcing the mission and vision of CFC. Every program we have, and every child and family we serve is supported in some capacity by the generosity of you, and others in the community who share the wealth God has given each to advance the mission of strengthening families and serving at-risk children in the name of Jesus Christ. Pray for Donor Relations Offices, End-of-Year Campaigns, Corporate and Foundation Gifts, and Funding Growth.
Verse: “Jesus said, when you invest your treasure in heavenly things, your heart will follow.” ~Matthew 6:20-21
Pray for the Strengthening & Restoration of Families – As our journey through these 40 Days of Prayer comes to a close, we pray that it has caused you to seek God more earnestly, to pray more fervently, and to walk more boldly. We pray that your spiritual eyes and ears will be opened to the miracles and wonders He reveals every day. We pray that you will actively seek His purpose for your life—both within and beyond the ministry of Christian Family Care; And as we align with Him in these ways, we can see the fruit of His outpouring through us in the lives of those we faithfully serve.
Verse: “May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~Romans 15:13
