Gage is a bright, observant, and affectionate boy with a gentle and calm nature. Although he is often stoic and quiet, he expresses joy and connection in meaningful ways such as handholding, hugs, and sharing his interests with trusted adults. He loves watching any movies with animals such as Curious George and Toy Story. Some of his favorite words to say include “monster,” along with different animal names, and he becomes very proud and excited when he can communicate them.

Gage has quite a sweet tooth; he loves chocolate, cookies, and candy. Gage thrives in calm, structured environments where he feels safe, comfortable, and secure, while also enjoying activities such as swimming. He does best with familiarity and predictable routines, and his noise-canceling headphones provide him with comfort, relaxation, and sensory regulation. Gage especially enjoys hands-on crafts and interactive activities, where he consistently demonstrates impressive understanding, focus, and engagement.

Gage would thrive in a patient, structured, and nurturing home with caregivers who are understanding of different forms of communication and willing to provide consistent, hands-on support. He benefits from routine, one-on-one attention, and caregivers who take the time to understand his cues and communication style. Gage would do well in a home with one or two parents as an only child or with young or older siblings he can look up to. Gage is comfortable with relaxed pets. A perfect day for Gage would include watching animal videos, enjoying favorite snacks, completing hands-on activities, swimming, and spending quiet time with people he trusts and feels connected to.

Gage was born in 2011.
