For many, summer is a time for family fun and relaxation.
We eagerly anticipate vacations, weddings, backyard barbecues,
and time at the pool. But what people don’t realize is that summer
is a particularly difficult season for at-risk children.

You’ve probably heard me talk about Adverse Childhood Experiences
(ACEs) before. These are traumatic events that can range from
witnessing violence in the home to experiencing abuse and neglect.
And unfortunately, during the summer, as many as 43% of Arizona’s
children are at much higher risk for an ACE.

That’s why we and the at-risk children in our community need your
prayers and support more than ever. Your generosity helps us come
alongside struggling families this summer and give them the tools they
need to conquer their trials. For those who can’t afford childcare while
school is out, CFC offers scholarships to Family Care KIDS. For moms
and dads battling personal issues, STRONG Families provides safe,
temporary homes for their children. In addition to these and our other
services, we partner with other organizations and school districts to
broaden our reach and meet these families where they are. And none
of this would be possible without you.

Thank you for being a “front-line supporter” for families in Arizona.
It means so much to our families that they have a community
encouraging, helping, and praying for them.
