Family Care Learning’s Mission Statement

Family Care Learning classes equip families and caregivers to flourish in their roles by providing life-changing education.

What Is on-demand Learning?

Family Care Learning offers convenient online, on-demand parent training courses. The courses within our library are constantly growing and can be taken whenever is most convenient to the participant. Many of the online parenting classes are geared to help foster and adoptive families parent children with traumatized pasts.

World View of Classes

Many of our courses are taught from a Christian worldview and are designed to strengthen families and equip all parents, guardians, and community members to interact effectively with children.

Who Are These Classes for?

Foster and Adoptive Parent

These courses will help foster and adoptive parents who care for a child that has experienced trauma in the form of abuse, neglect, or maltreatment. It takes courage and inner strength to be able to identify their needs and create environments that will bring healing to these children. Our classes will give you the confidence to help prevent disruption.

Educators

These courses will help the heroes who work every day helping children learn and grow into healthy citizens. We also know that not every child is going to respond to the same type of teaching. Some children come from hard places and need extra grace. These courses will help educators be able to identify and provide solutions for children who may come from difficult backgrounds.

Social Workers

These courses are for those who have studied and spent time in the field putting the hard work in to help at-risk children. Those who sacrifice and give every day. Yet, at times may wish they had more practical ideas and information to reinforce how they help the children that they serve. These courses will do just that!

Church Volunteers

Your ministry with children has never been more important and meaningful than within the culture of today. The love and care church volunteers give to God’s children is so needed. We know that there might be many in your flock who seem to just need a bit more extra grace.

These online courses will give church volunteers great insight into why they may experience the types of behaviors they see from the kids they work with, as well as help them have a better understanding of the needs of these kids. We are continuing to develop courses specifically for the church volunteer who cares for traumatized children.

Certification CEUs

Foster parents can submit Family Care Learning course completion certificates for the recommended number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Each of the courses are made up of a variety of modules with lessons within each. These lessons are made up of short videos to watch. Learners must complete the video before they can advance to the next lesson. There is also a variety of “process questions” throughout each lesson to help learners apply lessons from the videos. Each learner must also complete a final assessment quiz to receive a certificate.

Will I receive a certificate of completion for the course?

Yes! Every online parenting course comes with a certificate of completion that has been approved by the Arizona Department of Child Safety when the last lesson is reached. This certificate will have the learner’s name, the title of the course, the credit hours, and the date of completion.

Can I download the course videos? Are there downloadable resources?

Unfortunately, there is no way to download the material, but the lessons can be rewatched at any time. There are, however, many downloadable handouts and extra resources to help you succeed.

Can I interact with other people/instructors in the course?

Yes! Each lesson has a forum where learners can either post or answer a question for discussion to keep the learning going.

Can I watch the courses together with my spouse or do we each have to have our own login?

Just like our in-person courses, the pricing for the online parenting classes is based per participant. Each purchase should be logged under an individual’s name, and only that name will be tied to the proof of participation.
