Empowering young adults to build successful independent lives.

Project Starfish aims to help youth transitioning out of the foster care system without many permanent connections and support. The program will help youth and young adults navigate life outside of the child welfare system including: 

Life skills

Housing

Job training

Higher education

In order to ensure each youth has the highest chance at success in the program, the following criteria must be met before enrollment:

  • Current Foster youth between the ages of 16-18
  • Former foster youth between the ages of 16-21
  • Youth who were adopted from the foster care system between the ages of 16-21
  • Must have no evidence of an addiction to any alcohol or drugs
  • Must not possess any emergency behavioral health needs that warrant treatment
  • Must not pose an imminent or future threat to harm self or anyone else
