We believe that your past and present experiences and support systems greatly help or hinder your well-being and relationships.
Some of Our Therapy and Services Offered Include:
We offer different methods of therapy and services to best meet your needs. Each one is tailored to your unique situation.
- Traumatic Experiences
- Relationship Issues
- Grief and Loss
- Parent-Child Relationship
- Parent Skills Development
- Foster and Adoptive Issues
- Social Anxiety
Individuals deal with stress on a daily basis, leading to difficulties with anxiety and depression, and challenging relationships with family members or co-workers. Traumatic experiences can affect our current ability to live effectively. Our compassionate counselors will listen and provide guidance.
Integrative Treatment for Attachment Trauma
Foster and adoptive children deal with issues of loss, attachment trauma, and abuse/neglect. Often children who have experienced these issues exhibit differences in the brain, which may appear as inappropriate coping behaviors and delayed emotional and social growth.
Our skilled counselors use therapy techniques specially chosen to help these children and their caregivers.
By using play therapy our counselors help children suffering from difficulties like separation, depression, abuse, post-traumatic stress, or the loss of a family member.
In a play therapy session, children are able to work through problems as they create a world they can master.
Trust-Based Relational Intervention
Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI is connection.
Family Coaching Services
Children do not come with owner’s manuals. Even if they did, each child is unique and has different needs and personalities. Parenting coaching services are designed for families needing a little extra help. These services are intended to be short-term in nature, with an emphasis on assessing needs and providing personalized guidance. Learn more.

Marriage & Couples Counseling
Do you want to have a better understanding and deepen your relationship with your significant other?
Arizona Family Counseling serves couples in all stages of life, from dating to engagement to marriage and re-marriage. Couples therapy can help individuals assess their relationship patterns, attachment, readiness for marriage, and more.
Couples therapy may include administration of the Prepare/Enrich and/or attachment assessment if desired and considered therapeutically appropriate. Couples therapy is not just for individuals who feel their relationship is in trouble, but also for couples who have a great relationship and want to make it better, or who just want an informal check-up from time to time to infuse their relationship with new life.
Therapists at Arizona Family Counseling believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Family therapy assesses not only individual struggles but also the relationships between family members in order to help the entire family reach its goals. Family therapy may include both individual and group sessions as the counselor works to understand the roles of each family member and the function of the family as a whole.

Option of Faith-Based Counseling
All Arizona Family Counseling staff are Christian. When you begin, you will be given the opportunity to integrate faith-based activities and biblical principles during your sessions. The choice is yours.
What if you are not Christian? Not a problem! We are trained professionals and you can expect the same clinical expertise whether you choose to integrate faith-based activities in your journey with us or not.
We do not provide pastoral or Biblical counseling. We would recommend reaching out to your church if you desire those services.
